Anyone going to Flite Fest East 2018??

Flite Fest East 2018 is coming up in just over a week, and I am curious if anyone else is planning on attending?

I’d love too but there’s this little thing called the Ocean thats stands in my way. That and Airlines are not particularly fond of FPV gear or LiPo’s. Something about really stupid people causing fires with them that’s screwed it up for the rest of us.

However I’d love for you to fly my mini there. Would be cool to see it on video if it were possible to send it to you. BTW, please be sure to hitup David to get a sense of what type of update he’s looking at for the Mini and Baby Tri’s. IMO we need F4, Data-logging and OSD integrated. Anyways, have fun at Flite Fest!

Note: The Baby is down until such time that I get an FC that will support dRonin as Triflight cant compensate properly for the high thrust to weight ratio. Till then I am salvaging the parts from it to build a quad.

@kevin_erik I’ve had no problems flying with LIPOs within the UK or the US. You need to carry them in you carry on, they are not allowed in the cargo hold. The logic is that if one was to burst into flames, someone would notice it in the cabin but not in the cargo hold.

I’d love to go, but that’s a long flight. I did look to see what the deal is with FlightFest West this year, doesn’t look like they worked it out yet though. At least on the west coast there would be a chance I can attend, assuming it’s near enough SoCal.

I’m conveniently located about 2.5 hours drive time away from Flite Fest East. I’m heading over early to help set up and am on the volunteer program again this year. I had as much, if not more fun last year helping people in the build tent as I did doing my own thing. Lots of creative and artistic builds going on in addition to the off the shelf Kit builds.

Was good to see David/RCE and LitterBug at FFE! Felt like a blur and didn’t really get a chance to hang out too much, but it is the nature of the beast. At least we got some Pokemon in 😉

I believe that the only other FliteFest is in Texas this year. Probably a bit too ambitious to try and do more, is my guess. Hope to see everyone again at another Flite Test fly in.
