Wish the Yaw Tau and noise was a little bit better.Going for the first real flight today!

12 August, 2018 at 14:20 #58737Kevin_ErikModeratorVideo from the first 3 flights.
Sort of a lazy acro mode to start.
Pushing it harder but later attacked by a bee while landing. (Clipped a tree)
Swapped out the props and went for it again.
Apart from the prop-wash, i thought this was by far the best flight performance I’ve ever had with the Tri-Baby. Will maybe swap out the motors and run it 6S.
Side note: during hard turns or spins it sounds like something is rubbing or hitting against the frame. It’s possible that the battery cable is the cause.

21 August, 2018 at 03:07 #58909jihleinParticipantI’ve put together a new build for the Matek405Ctr. It changes a few things that will mostly go unnoticed.
1)Removed LED Strip support from pad S5
2)Activated pad S5 and S6 as pwm/dshot outputs (this might help betafight triflight users using S5 for the
servo, although for new installations with dRonin S1 is a better choice if you don’t want to go back and
forth between firmwares)
3)Added the ability to configure pad S6 as LED Strip output. Default config for this pad is pwm/dshotThis gives the board a little more flexibility, at the expense of the LED strip being on pad S6 which is different from BetaFlight and iNav. It’s simply that pin resource thing pushing against different code implementation ideas again.
There’s no installer quite yet, I’ve got a few more changes I want to roll in elsewhere. Maybe in a few days….
The new installer will also have a heavily revamped F3Fc target, optimized toward the racing version, which includes an optional 2nd servo fdbk pin for the bicopter.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am7KDquQANJl5l30qBjnar4Y2m1QIf you’ve been using the F3Fc controller, it’s recommended to update the bootloader too as there were some changes made to the bootloader-firmware handover.

30 August, 2018 at 14:26 #59083Kevin_ErikModeratorInstalled and test flown the new GCS… Will do a real flight tomorrow after I have the LED’s installed.
31 August, 2018 at 09:46 #59095Kevin_ErikModeratorDid the real flights and have to say that these were some of the best quad flights I’ve ever had.
A few issues remain to be ironed out.
– Gyro drift is an issue that gets worse the longer the Copter flies. Replacing the bobbits and props has helped mitigate this somewhat but hasn’t gotten rid of the Drift entirely. Either I’ve experiencing a vibration inducted error, something is wrong with my FC or there is an issue with the tune.
– Battery mAh used is scaled incorrectly, showing about half the value it should.
– FPV feed can often can get washed out, having a milky over contrasted appearance.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.

19 November, 2018 at 12:16 #60234krkljanParticipantHi!
What is latest status of Tri-Ronin?
Are there any clear instructions how to install it on Rcexplorer F3FC integrated board? Will it be possible to use NAV?19 November, 2018 at 14:28 #60237Kevin_ErikModeratorIt works fine as I’ve a Quad and Tricopter-Baby using it on the Matek FC’s.
Be aware that some of the F3FC’s may run into issues installing dRonin as did my Tricopter-Mini. That being said, it’s not known why it works for some F3’s and not others. Beyond that, Nav should would as I’ve not heard of anyone saying otherwise.
