GoPro Hero 2 Power Setup

In David’s build video he says you can charge your GoPro with the speed controller BECs. I have a Hero 2 not a 3. Would you just send the camera’s charge plug to one of the unused motor pin-outs on the kk2 board? I can’t tell what he does to do this and don’t know if it works with the Hero 2.

Yes you just use a USB cable to draw 5v from one of the unused motor outputs. If you get one of the specialized cables off eBay you can reuse it for both power and FPV on a hero3/hero3+/hero4. For your hero 2 you’d need a separate Hero 2 A/V cable for FPV.

Simply connect it as you would a motor or servo: Black wire to ground, red wire to +5v. There should be no signal wire.
