ParticipantWhat seemed to be a little bit pricey at one time seems to be moving to the affordable price. Seeing the lower prices has sparked my interest. Now it seems the options have really increased spawn some questions. Ublocks? 6,7,8 built in compass. Are they made for particular flight controller or are they sort of universal with flashing options? Neo8 russian satellite. I didnt know the sky was filled with so much. Ive seen videos on the Internet setting up certian gps units with certian flight controllers. Ive read reviews that one gps worked with apm and the review below worked with naze32 and another working with pixjawk.
Is it just the wiring? Maybe the baud rates? Maybe the combo of both? Has anyone worked with gps? Any information will do.

ParticipantIn some cases the difference is just the wiring and type of connector to suit a particular flight controller.
I bought this M8N with compass , cut off the supplied connectors, wired it up to the rcexplorer flight controller myself and let the firmware configure it. Works very very well.
The INAV guys have been doing a great job with the gps features and their firmware has given me a safety-net and confidence to go out and practice flying.4 January, 2017 at 05:16 #35817donnyb
ParticipantThats funny. I clicked on your link and thats the one i was referring to. So you just need to configure the wiring to what board your using? I been a fan of the multiwii since i could stick tune the parameters from the radio.
I been intrested in gps for my hexacopters. And at 10 to 20 dollars a piece i could put them on everything. Lol
I really wasnt sure if they where proprietary to individual boards.
Thanks

ParticipantYup, tx, rx, pwr, gnd. And two wires for I2C if you use the compass.
They work so well that I’m using one in a geophysical survey rig. But be advised, they don’t have enough flash memory to do a firmware upgrade, so no Galileo reception unless new stock comes in with the update. -
