Anyone seen the Graupner Hornet 250 Tricopter? It is a whopping $670 RTF. It is made of plastic, uses a propritary FC and uses a $30 servo, some kind of folding arms too. It even has a auto-flip function! What’s not to like 🙂
7 October, 2016 at 11:09 #33825GAntonjoModeratorNot to like: The price. The proprietary FC. I’m more likely to by from David than from Graupner;-)
7 October, 2016 at 11:21 #33826TerjeModeratorBut – but – but, it does AUTO-FLIP?!? 😉
I agree that it is the most expensive toy I have seen so far!
– I could just shape hornets head from Polymorph and glue it on my FPV cam, but that would provide no protection of the camera… Well winter is at the door, might be a nice project to build a RCExplorer based hornet 🙂
7 October, 2016 at 14:22 #33832mcstanParticipantwah now that is ugly tricopter i would have to pass on that one
7 October, 2016 at 16:13 #33833GAntonjoModeratorPuuuuhhh… @dkdarkness. One moment I tought you had “jumped to the other side” and abandoned RCExplorer:-p

Buy only from the master, David.Graupner makes good radios and they don’t need the money. Support David!
14 October, 2016 at 10:00 #34018TerjeModeratorHe he, glad we all agree 🙂
19 October, 2016 at 12:27 #34188RCExplorer – DavidKeymasterMan that is cool 😀
Price tag is redoculus but they really have a well defined theme on it 😀Man that auto flip feature sure is tempting though 😀
19 October, 2016 at 12:33 #34189hertzParticipantAuto-flip? I’m sold.
I like the wasp-like design though, they should be using BetaFlight for complete image 🙂20 October, 2016 at 20:38 #34221billydParticipantCertainly you could put autoflip into the triflight firmware…… 😉
It is an rtf FPV copter so it’s not crazy expensive.
20 October, 2016 at 20:45 #34222billydParticipantYou can get the kit and supply your own stuff pretty cheap.

20 December, 2016 at 17:01 #35521billydParticipantGraupner USA now has the frame kits in stock. Pretty cheap too about $50 shipped. I ordered one for giggles. I will outfit it with Davids f3fc and source the motors locally. (from my shelf lol).
21 December, 2016 at 12:36 #35534hertzParticipantI was being ironic 🙂
21 December, 2016 at 13:39 #35535TerjeModerator$50 bucks for some pieces of plastic and some screws? The instruction manual clearly states: “To get started, grab your ankles on the White House lawn”… 😉
22 December, 2016 at 05:12 #35540donnybParticipantIt looks kind of fragile. I 3d printed the baby tri from carbon fiber. Crashed it into the wall of the living room at 80 miles per hour. Everything was ok but the standoffs and the top plate. Daves design works for me!!!
