Hey everyone I’m starting to do my research for getting an FPV setup for my tricopter. I’m currently leaning toward getting a Möbius cam, but have read that it has latency issues when trying to fly FPV from it. I see a lot of multirotors with the Möbius for recording, but then they use a board cam for the actual FPV video feed. What are people’s experiences with this? Can anyone recommend using the Möbius for live FPV?
Thanks for any comments you may have

I’m using the Mobius with the B lens as my FPV camera. For me it works good. But I’m still at the beginning to learn to fly FPV. So it’s quite slow paced, where I could not notice any lag.
But one other thing should be mentioned: I’m flying a 4S setup and to get my Cg right I have to place my battery wuite far to the front (see the attached pictures), The standard AV out cable then interfieres with the battery and the camera has to be placed with the tip hanging over the front the camera holder. Currently I’m waiting for this cable, which might help to place the camera further back. Or I’ll convert the Mobius with this Kit to the GoPro form factor.
Be aware, that my setup might cause some confusion: The last image actually shows my tri after a rough landing. The Mobius fell off and the FPV obviosly cut off. The tri rebounced once due to my landing gear, but landed safely without damage.
I hope that helps a little bit. 🙂

I’m glad to know that someone out there is using the Möbius successfully for FPV even if it is at slower speeds. Thanks also for the heads up about the battery location and AV out cable. If and when I get mine, I’ll be sure to get the better cable too.

Some other things came into my mind:
My Möbius had by default a date/time overlay in the lower left corner. You might disable this one before the first flight, since the date was 2013 something in my case. I did my configuration with this software.
There you also can increase the maximum video file size and whatever you desire. 🙂The colours and light sensitivity is average in the dawn or when clouds are in the sky. But I can distinguish relevant bits and pieces. A board camera might be better here, but I don’t have one to compare it.
And one final thing: Do you have a source for a lense protection? I could not find one yet… 🙁

@schlagbohrer,
I have not looked into protecting the lens a lot but maybe something like this would help?http://www.shapeways.com/product/YP8RRBAKM/mobius-action-cam-lens-saver

The best solution may be of course such transparent protection which you can get for GoPros.
12 May, 2015 at 21:50 #14216_SYC_ParticipantBeen flying using the mobius just for filming. Tonight took it out FPV and worked great. Didn’t notice and lag and a good picture. Defiantly worth it!
Got a neat little cable from eBay. Keeps it much slimmer than the others.Attachments:

If you want to use it because you have a better feeling of what’s in the final image, I would recommend a video switcher. You can get them for very little money. -
