With less than 24 hours to the official release of the mini tricopter, I have uploaded some basic optional modifications for the mini tricopter 🙂
Find them at Thingiverse 🙂
13 September, 2015 at 19:18 #19466TerjeModeratorA custom canopy for the mini. Allows you to choose a different color of the canopy (if you don’t want to spoil the original with spray paint).
Also adds the option of tilting the mobius plate 0-25 degrees.

10 November, 2015 at 18:50 #22422TerjeModeratorRacing canopy for the RCExplorer V3, V3.5 and mini. Extra protection for the board camera and less drag. Spoiler is removable to fit Mobius/Runcam/GoPro session.
Source file included.

14 November, 2015 at 21:55 #22557TerjeModeratorThe skids are mounted on the racing canopy picture. Here is a picture of them in orange.

7 January, 2017 at 18:34 #35886SamParticipantLate to the party, but great job. I love these bodykit mods. Does it add much weight? Does extending the nose let you get a camera with a case in there? What program did you use to model it?
10 January, 2017 at 11:36 #35923TerjeModeratorI’m working on a new lighter canopy using laminated 1mm plywood, 1.5mm plywood and PETG – mostly for show though. It is lighter than the original G10 canopy, but requires access to 3D printer and laser cutter or coping saw… More along the lines of “Pimp my ride” than actual functionality.
There are no dedicated mounts for a cased camera, but I guess you could make one if you wanted to. Since there are different mounting on cased cameras, I can’t make one that fits all.
I use Autodesk Fusion 360 for all my modeling work.
17 January, 2017 at 03:45 #36107The-One-Who-Never-CrashesParticipantI wish David would do a CF cage. I’d buy one right away!!
I’ve seen people mount cased cameras with 3D printed mounts:
https://www.youmagine.com/designs/rcexplorer-mini-tricopter-camera-mountOr you can use LEGOs 🙂 :

I would go for 1mm side plates and 1.5mm top plate 🙂 Remember to get the woven carbon plates!
21 January, 2017 at 12:01 #36180TerjeModeratorI made a RunCam/Foxeer adapter for the RCExplorer canopy. Find it on Thingiverse.
