    @Terje

I have the Tri-Mini Racing canopy and have discovered a flaw with it’s basic design that allows the battery to be thrown thru into the camera compartment during the event of a crash. Had this happen to me recently were the Copter took ZERO external damage but the battery came forward crushing the instrumentation inside. Would it be possible to alter the original design to provide for a battery stop?

    Hi @Kevin_Erik

I’ve actually never used the original canopy, so I can’t say how to improve it. If you are referring to the the 3D printed version, I’ve moved away from that also. The 40mm spacer should prevent Lipo through camera incidents though.

I found that a 2mm plywood and 3D printed parts worked best for me – didn’t bother to upload the design though, since surprisingly few people know how to operate a gigsaw…

Well I guess that puts us Jigsaw capable guys in the minority.

Question: Would you still have the original files? If so I could alter them and upload it as a remix rather then having to recreate them from scratch.

Yeah but that can’t be directly modified by another user. At least not that I am aware of and yes, i’ve tried.

    I have Fusion 360…

You should be able to import the stp file into Fusion360 and edit it.

I’ve just added the f3d file for you. If you don’t have Fusion360, get it. It’s free for personal use:

I’ve tried before and found that Fusion may have some form of Copy protection to where only the original author can edit the files. Either that or the files have the history / linkage to another file preventing editing to someone else without those resources.

Try downloading someone else work and see if you can alter / edit anything.

I routinely use and alter somebody elses stp files from eg. GrabCad without issues.

I miss the days of 3D Max when such things were much simpler.

You are maybe confusing STL and STP files? 🙂

Could be as I’ve not touched Fusion 360 in a couple of months.

BTW, have you considered making a tri-frame? I’d like to look at making something that’s built for inverted props and servo.

Have you tried the impossible tilt?

Not yet as i wasnt sure if the 2207-1900kv motors would fit.

Here’s the impossible tilt on the Baby Tri. Still needs some cleanup and wiring….

One problem that I can already see is that the Tail Mechanism will be mounted higher that the IMU’s Roll axis.
Keep all the motors rotational mass as near to the centerline of the CG is as important as weight distribution.
