OK, print request has been accepted and should be here by the end of next week.
Only need my servos to arrive and to find a new Flight Controller.20 April, 2018 at 11:18 #57567Kevin_ErikModeratorFound a Servo Saver that may work for our application:
Note: This is a 25 spline “small” saver.
I have written the Manufacturer “Corally” requesting more information on this product as well as asking for advice specific to our application. In the meantime I’ll continue my research online to see what else I can find.
Cheers!
Kevin
20 April, 2018 at 14:28 #57568LitterBugParticipantI must be doing something wrong….. I’ve only managed to kill one servo, and it was from a direct hit on concrete…. =-O
Got a clean print with Hatchbox PLA last night. Will be throwing it on Baby Tri #2 which has a slight bind right now anyway.
Monoprice Select mini V2, Nozzle .40, 210C, 4 top/bottom layers, 3 shells, .1mm height, 30% infill, No supports.Cheers!
LitterBugPS: OH WOW! Hey I just noticed the 40degree index marks on it! NICE TOUCH!
20 April, 2018 at 15:40 #57570Kevin_ErikModeratorNice Color
20 April, 2018 at 16:35 #57572LitterBugParticipantLOL…. I actually did it just for you since you like the bumble bee colors so much on my builds! HI-VIS contrast in case I need to search the field “when” I get to crazy with my flying. 😀
Cheers!
LitterBug20 April, 2018 at 16:40 #57573Kevin_ErikModeratorMy crazy is why i flew into a tree the other day at over 100kph
20 April, 2018 at 20:05 #57575Kevin_ErikModerator21 April, 2018 at 01:38 #57577jihleinParticipantDone! At least electrically and mechanically. My settings didn’t transfer so need to do a quick redo of the settings. Weather does not look like it will cooperate this weekend though.
Made some changes to triflight I will try and see if I can tame the tail a bit better.

21 April, 2018 at 04:08 #57579LitterBugParticipantMy first and second printings align fine using the “stock” RCE BMS-210DMH servo. Printed the 4 bolt motor mount @Terje posted today. I mirrored the motor mount since I have the motor wires coming off the opposite side. Cobra 2207 2450kv motors fit perfect. Movement is smooth as silk! Might be beneficial to slot the motor mount holes to allow 90 degree rotation for motors with opposite hole spacing. Weather should be awesome for hitting the field today.
Cheers!
LitterBug21 April, 2018 at 10:42 #57580Kevin_ErikModeratorin the pic you provided it looks as if there is a “white” spacer of some sort between the motor holder and the back support. Can you detail what this is? (Guessing that it’s teflon)
21 April, 2018 at 11:04 #57581Kevin_ErikModeratorJust tried ordering the servo savers from Corally…. their payment handler sux-arse and I have again tried to contact them directly.
Edit: Order done. May e 1-2 weeks for delivery.

They are simply two 3mm ID nylon washers. I tighten down the pivot screw until it slightly binds, then back of about half a turn or so.
BTW – just to get a little more prop clearance with the SunnySky 2204’s, I added two 3 mm flat steel washers between the motor and motor mount on each mounting screw.
21 April, 2018 at 20:53 #57588Kevin_ErikModeratorYou could use a motor-isolation gummy as a spacer, they’re 1-2 mm of silicone.
21 April, 2018 at 21:16 #57590LitterBugParticipantMounted the Baby ImposiTilt and test flown in back yard. Initial results are looking like a big improvement all around.
Kevin, you should start your own thread for servo savers rather than hijacking @Terje’s Tilt thread.
Cheers!
