Completed the 6S Flight today with the Impossible Tail Mech installed.

*** No damage to the Servo! ***
The Tri was completely flyable once the propeller was reattached.

I’ve updated https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1035497 with a back holder with indicator, 2217 (better for the 2208) and 2205 motor cups. The 2217 is as large as it can be, and you’ll need to omit one zip tie to make it work. Shouldn’t be a problem though.
10 June, 2018 at 11:16 #58045Kevin_ErikModeratorAfter 50+ flights, I finally had a Servo fail (gearing) but not due to crash or collision. Looks like the gears may of lost a tooth or have a bent shaft. These are bound to wear out after a while so this was to be expected.
Now I can safely say that the Impossible Tail Mechanism is far superior to the standard release.

Stainless-Steel Version. BMS-210D
The Servo still “works” mind you, just need to swap out its gear set. For the test method, I few it extremely hard (6S-LiPo) hitting the Tail-Mech with as much stress as possible to try to force the Copter to oscillate. Over 50 short flights (30-60 seconds each, 8-10 flights per pack) this was performed using high Roll / Pitch maneuvers, then counter Roll / Pitch over and over again. This seems to create more stress on the system than simply Yawing Left or Right. The short flights allowed the Motors to cool, while I evaluated the overall condition of the Copter. Keep in mind that the stresses I placed on the Copter, go way beyond what someone would encounter during normal flight or even freestyle for that matter. They’d have to be running with a profoundly bad tune and or poor balance to even come close to the stresses created.
Note(1): I crashed quite a bit too but the servo kept singing.
Note(2): Tail Mech printed from Nylon / Kevlar mix. -
