New V4 Triflight V2.0.3 firmware

Just bought the V4 Kit and full bundle
build nice and easy installation of “Preconfigured” firmware via Cleanflight
Version stable 2.0.3 open cleanflight after installation and it thinks its a quad!!
changed to tricopter not to big a deal but on motor test motor 1 and 3 work nothing on 2
checked wiring solder joints etc.
Reinstalled firmware again it setup as quad
went to motoer control to test motor and the quad map was loaded and the non working motor is fully functional on output 4 ???

So i am presuming the “preconfigured Tricopter” firmware has a motor map issue.
Can anyone give some advice ?

Ok, just to understand your setup… You have the following with the F3FC frame straight from David’s shop, right?

Then you should not be using CleanFlight firmware, as TriFlight is the optimized firmware for this. Then there are a few versions to chose from, the https://github.com/lkaino/Triflight/releases/tag/0.5 which requires an older version of CleanFlight Configurator installed. or the latest development verstion at https://github.com/lkaino/Triflight/releases, which requires latest BetaFlight Configurator installed on your computer.

Using wrong version of the Configurator will for sure cause strange things to happen, so please be sure to use correct version of the Configurator, ref: https://rcexplorer.se/blog/2017/06/having-problem-connecting-to-cleanflight-update-to-triflight-0-7/

Thank you for the prompt response, I misunderstood to instructions
as cleanflight has been updated and installed the current one and used the
rcexplorer f3 firware available in the tab instead of
the direct download link for tri flight
