Hi fellow explorers,
Just finished the babytricopter build. But had 2 evenings of frustration…..
I used an devo rx716 very small pppm receiver. Hooked everything up with the standard electronics kit for the babytricopter. Connected to cleanflight, everything works except the reciever input. Tried uart1, uart2, uart3. Set the rx output in the port tab. And set ppm in the receiver tab.
Am I overlooking something…..
The reciever binds (solid red light). Tried normal bind and fixed ID bind.
Maybe the rx has a malfunction or its a setting in cleanflight.

If it’s PPM as you said it won’t work on the UARTs as it’s not a serial protocol. You need to connect it to PPM input and configure the FC for PPM input, see https://youtu.be/-eAeA5McNi4?t=520.

The protocol for the rx is ppm.
I think the problem is that I soldered the rx signal wire to ‘r1’ (just followed the instructionvideo blindly) but it should be soldered to port ‘6’ because it is ppm protocol.
is that correct?
5 March, 2017 at 17:04 #36755laukaParticipantYes, the pin labeled ‘6’ should be correct for ppm.

Thanks Lauka

I don’t know what txd output does. Didn’t connect that one. Couldn’t findout what the supposed to do on the walkera site / forum’s or manuals.

with cc3d board flashed with betaflight25 May, 2017 at 13:03 #37754MarcelParticipantYes it’s just the ppm signal that it needs. Also used it on other builds no problems
25 May, 2017 at 13:04 #37755zokizoParticipantthanks 😉
