ParticipantHi im using taranis is there any good example in setting up for baby tricopter
thanks2 November, 2016 at 18:46 #34509billyd
ParticipantRotor riot has a great video on setting up the taranis for the Alien 5″ quad. It’s very close to the baby tri in terms of using sbus and telemetry so you can pretty much follow what they did exactly.

Participantthanks for the setup tutorial…. but is for quad not tricopter
some of the setting Im not quite sure need some to double confirm on that, thanks13 November, 2016 at 01:26 #34779billyd
ParticipantYes but it is identical, since the tricopter uses 4 channels as well for flight control. The number of motors is immaterial. So functionally there is no difference in the Taranis setup. You can use the exact same setup in the video. Also, assuming you are using sbus and smartport for telemetry, you can copy exactly how he did those settings too.

ParticipantOK…. everything is set…. but when I powerup on the received side on cleanflight.. all control is mixedup… tried several times , I even try cli command to remap my basic control…still no the same …

ParticipantNo need to use CLI to remap, you are probably on TAER mapping instead of AETR or the other way around. Did you try changing that setting on the receiver tab in CleanFlight and see if that put the right controls on the right channels?

ParticipantCould be you didn’t calibrate your accelerometers. In the welcome screen of cleanflight when you are connected. Get your copter perfectly level and click calibrate.
Also make sure you calibrate the escs. Do this with your props OFF! Disconnect the flight battery, connect the fc to cleanflight and go to the motors tab and turn on the “I understand” switch. Then raise the master slider to maximum. Plug in the flight battery wait until the beeps stop completely, and then quickly slide the slider to minimum. Done.

ParticipantAlso make sure you have your modes configured correctly. Make sure the arming switch is in the unarmed state when plugging in the flight battery. Also the aircraft needs to be relatively level (doesn’t have to be perfect, within 10 or 15 degrees or so) when ready for takeoff.
