I was able to load the hex file and while connecting to dRonin the first drive loaded but the second driver failed. What is the fix for this? Win7

31 May, 2019 at 01:51 #62156jihleinParticipantSmartAudio Status
Well I received more hardware from @swissfreek today, a couple of TBS video transmitters. The short story is I have SmartAudio working with the VTX he supplied. See below for the longer story.
SmartAudio is a half duplex serial protocol. That means TX and RX on the same wire. The dRonin serial port config for half duplex currently sets the output type as push pull, which I think is a mistake, it should be open drain with a pull up resistor. For fear of burning out the TX, I changed the serial port config to open drain with pull up. This is the configuration I tested with, and intend to leave for the SmartAudio function. It makes me wonder if I burned out the uart on my HolyBro VTX during testing, as I can send data to it correctly, but the response is really garbled.
So there is some code cleanup I need to do, and then I’ll merge this and make some builds for testing.

31 May, 2019 at 22:48 #62211swissfreekParticipantThe only link I see anymore is for MacOS. But it won’t have any of the latest stuff he’s been working on anyway.

I’m trying DRonin with triflight on my Kakute F4 V2. Someone knows if it is possible to have OSD like Betaflight? I don’t find it on DRonin menu.
Thanks2 June, 2019 at 20:05 #62231touchthebitumParticipantIt’s ok , the OSD is ok but I can’t use the smart audio to setup my VTX Holybro Atlatl.
Any idea ?
Thanks12 June, 2019 at 22:50 #62475fgsfds1234ParticipantSo I’m new to the trike world, having some experience setting up quadcopters this thing is leaving me stumped. I’ve put it together per everything I could find for the kakute f4 v2, and initially it seemed to be set up right with whatever was flashed from the factory, but after flashing triflight 0.7 beta 3 the motors are now in the wrong position (1 is still left, but now 1 is supposed to be the tail?) and the barometer stopped working (baro worked initially). is this a good version to use because I can’t find any 0.5 version listed for this board? also during tail servo setup it looks like the feedback wire isn’t working which might just need reprogrammed. Is there a way to get the baro working again with this version and should I just swap the motors using “resource motor 1” etc commands?

Use dronin instead of betaflight to configure. Like I said watch the video I linked to.
13 June, 2019 at 04:11 #62479fgsfds1234Participantthanks, I was getting too stuck thinking triflight was the solution. It’s just about done thanks to dronin, I just need to get the esc reversed which I always have trouble connecting to on blheli suite
13 June, 2019 at 05:25 #62481billydParticipantI had trouble on a win7 machine with that. Win10 seems to work better with the kakute.
Speaking of reverse, one thing David doesn’t mention is the tail servo needs reversing on the output tab of dronin. You can do that when you set up center and the 40 degree throw left and right.
13 June, 2019 at 06:01 #62487swissfreekParticipantThis! I guess we’ve all been through it and forget to mention it in here, but it took me a while to figure out that’s what was going on (and how to reverse the servo in dRonin: basically just reverse the values on that tab when you get to the part about adjusting the angle at maximum deflection so that the higher number is on the left instead of the right).
13 June, 2019 at 06:41 #62489fgsfds1234Participantthanks for the pointer on the tail servo, I’ll have to check that. on the blheli thing, I’ve tried a win7 computer and I just can’t get it to connect at all, on a 10 computer I’ve tried 4 different versions plus the chrome app one, on one I finally got it to connect but it won’t read the esc at all, and on another (chrome app looking one) it will connect, and it says it read the esc but the screen stays blank. I’m assuming it’s wired fine, as I can spool up the motors through dronin. I always have the worst luck getting this to work.
13 June, 2019 at 08:05 #62490touchthebitumParticipantI have this problem too. I can’t connect Blheli32 suite to my escs. ON Betaflight it is ok, DRonin not.
