I’ve updated https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2869393/ with a back holder with better clearance.
I’ve updated https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1035497 with a back holder with indicator, 2217 (better for the 2208) and 2205 motor cups. The 2217 is as large as it can be, and you’ll need to omit one zip tie to make it work. Shouldn’t be a problem though.
TerjeModerator@lauka would it be possible for you to compile targets for the Holybro Kakute AIO v2, Omnibus F4SD and Omnibus F7V2?
TerjeModeratorSo far I’ve gotten 0 feedback on whether the impossible tilt works or not, and/or reports on broken servos.
Until I get some feedback, I will hold back on releasing any files.
TerjeModeratorTry defining servo 0 instead
TerjeModeratorThe RCF3 RSSI pad is marked “Servo Feedback” 🙂
TerjeModeratorADC is Analog to Digital Converter. Normally there are 3: Voltage, Current and RSSI. Since no one uses RSSI output from the RX to the flight controller (FrSky sends the RSSI data directly from the RX to the radio (Taranis), RSSI is used for servo feedback.
Depending on which version of the OmnibusF4SD, the RSSI pad is placed different. Have a look at these resources to get started:

TerjeModeratorI opted to use the new stainless steel servos, and order spare gears, as it takes less time to replace the gears than to replace the servo. Haven’t flown much tricopter the last year though.
TerjeModeratorIf you go through 5-6 servos a year, consider getting a BMS-210DMH Servo with Feedback wire – Stainless steel shaft instead – might save you some headaches in the long run. It is purpose made.
I started out making a all in one version, but the solution prohibits using different servos as in your case, it is not possible to use the key-in slots and the layers would be too weak on the servo holder.
TerjeModeratorFor sake of my sanity, lets do less discussion, and more action? It’s a 2 hour print, with most printers unattended, so kind of a no-brainer. You do not need to write a masters thesis to decide if your motors will fit. Print it, it is less than $1 worth of materials, and see if they fit.
If you want to experiment with servo savers, by all means do it. Emphasis on DO it. You might find this thread helpful: https://rcexplorer.se/forums/topic/how-to-protect-the-servo/#post-26004
TerjeModerator@jihlein your problems may be a result of “elephants foot” on your print of the servo mount. Try cleaning up all the edges and see if it fits. It may, however, be a result of me using my pre-production babytri frame for reference 🙂
TerjeModerator@Kevin_Erik be adventurous, print it at see if it fits your specific 2207/2208 motors.
Servo savers introduce latency in the tilt mechanism resulting in oscillations from the PID loop.
TerjeModeratorAt the time I anticipated that TriFlight would solve the remaining problems. A year later progress on solving the tail wag issues seem to have come to a standstill.
Ok I’ll play along. 46, Denmark, Masters degree in computational linguistics. Been working with all sorts people over the years and learned that knowing which baseline I’m dealing with when communicating is key to getting the message across.
The reason I ask: 12, USA, primary school but my mom says I’m a genius! Would have suggested short attention span and sense of entitlement:-)
I’m guessing familiarity to 3D studio has you expecting things working a certain way, which it may or may not.
Limited time and boredom do seem to be conflicting messages though?

TerjeModeratorTry out these files, just finished them, not tested: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2869393
TerjeModeratorOh, did a quick edit myself. See if you like it 🙂
