Hold on! It looks like everything you’ve connected together is good. Servos do get hot if they jitter. I looked at the specs and it seems the servo should handle anything you throw at it. But the 5 volts you think your getting from the fc may have voltage drops below the lowest rating of 4.8 volts.
Thats when you can run into current problems. Say the max current of the servo is 600mha @ 5 volts max.
If you get it in the air and say your 5 volts drop to 4.5 volts your servo will pull more than the max current say 650mha and its possible the magic smoke appears.
Once you cooked it it will always smoke if you try to use it.
A easy way to check it out before you hook up a shiny new servo.
Is remove the props hook up your voltage tester to the 5 volt output. Wind it up to full speed and see if your still getting 5 volts.
If not get a separate bec and power the servo with that. Do not let the separate bec power run back to the fc. Just hook it up to the red wire on the servo. By default all the grounds are usally connected together.
Otherwise your fc could loose the magic smoke. Lol
I bought a set of Motors similar to the ones that you have displayed. The problem with the boat on shaft was the balance. Taking the bolt on shaft off left me with just a little 2mm shaft on the end.
So i bought some new motor shaft about 10 mm longer than than the orginal. That would easily solve the problem with the exception of the shaft was press fit. So i got a cheap arbor press and changed them out.
Only problem is that the motors weigh about 4 ounces each like 100grams. Needless to say they have been put aside for later.
Just a thought.
I would just make up a different name and use a different email address. Its really just a computer that your logging in. No one will know. Why you would get banned is beyond me. Little by little they seemed like they went a different direction since they was bought by a company. I still catch a few videos and the podcasts. But since they changed there site its a little more cumbersome to navigate. Usally i just come here.

I actually used a mini kk2.1.5 in the baby tri. Its nuts! The cool part is i used your case you put on thingiverse. I had to cut off 4mm off bottom in cura for space.
Thats funny. I clicked on your link and thats the one i was referring to. So you just need to configure the wiring to what board your using? I been a fan of the multiwii since i could stick tune the parameters from the radio.
I been intrested in gps for my hexacopters. And at 10 to 20 dollars a piece i could put them on everything. Lol
I really wasnt sure if they where proprietary to individual boards.
It looks kind of fragile. I 3d printed the baby tri from carbon fiber. Crashed it into the wall of the living room at 80 miles per hour. Everything was ok but the standoffs and the top plate. Daves design works for me!!!
I’m not suggesting you go and fly with the camera on your tricopter but, what’s the fine if any if you do? I think the world has some sort of issue of paranoia and there privacy. I was wondering if you done a range check. I’ve had a few receivers that would randomly disarm my quad. Found to be a defective antenna. Some cases it could be a noisy environment. (Rf that is).Also if you use the standard dupont connectors they really need to be snug. Just a thought.
Also depending what kk2 board you have ex. Kk2.0 kk2.1.5 You can flash different firmware on the flight controller. I like the kk2 board, it’s even better with steveis firmware. The newer board have more options, but getting in the air for a 5 dollar Flight Controller Is Awesome!
There is pros and cons of the 3s and 4s batteries. Your motor setup is for a 3s. Chances are that you can run a 4s battery. But the con is if you ad a fpv system or leds they may be 3s only. Also remember the type of esc the built in bec is normally 5 volts. If you put a 4s battery on it it could raise the bec output, cooking things you can’t eat. Lol.
Another positive note on 3s batteries is price and the weight. It all rolls down to flight time. I got about 15 minutes on a 3700mha battery. The multistar 5200 mha weigh the same. I can’t wait to try them out.
So the printed part just wedge in the top plate? I I have a couple of board cameras, and that’s a nice idea!
Well I guess I’ll stick with glass. so far I’ve had pretty good luck with glass. I will say I probably should have stuck with 10 or 12 mm rods for the table. there is a slight give in them. in the states I use elmers glue stick. ive had a few thick pcs warp. but not to a point that they been unusable.(((abs)))
