Hi, you’re on a good path. FPV Freestyle is a blast and the Baby tricopter is awesome. I have a baby tricopter and a quadcopter for FPV, and I prefer to fly the tricopter. I started off with a ready to fly quadcopter, so I didn’t have to learn about all the components and how they work with each other, just learn how to fly. Through that, I picked up some basics on the components. Then I received the baby tricopter kit as a gift. As mentioned before, the good thing about a kit is you don’t have to decide which components to use and how they interact with each other. You can just follow the guide on how to assemble it, one step at a time. You’ll learn a lot this way, but always feel like there is yet more to learn.

I recommend buying the baby tricopter kit and just jumping in. Good luck and have fun!
