    Will take a close look at board and pads, and try the right ESC on left pads and see what happens. This next week due to some non tricopter plans. Thanks again!

    Thank you for helping!

    Ohm out the motor and got 0.5 across each coil. Motor still connected to ESC. Looks OK.

    Ohm out receiving power wires. Looks OK.

    Ohm out PWM signal wires going to the ESC from the FC. Short circuit between white and black wire. Desoldering white PWM signal wire from ESC. Still short circuit between white and black wire.

    Removed the bottom frame plate to look closer if wires damaged. Where wires come out from arm going to ESC, small hole in both receiving power wires black and red. No visable damage to PWM signal wires.

    Desoldering white PWM signal wire from FC. Still short circuit between the two PWM terminals on FC.

    Left and rear PWM terminals measured to about 800-1200 ohm.

    Does this mean something broken on the F3FC frame? πŸ™
    Guess I have to take the tricopter fully apart to search for possible problems.

    (Did not have my best soldering moment yesterday, so I agree soldering looked a bit rough.)

    Have you set the UART1 port in triflight to SBUS? Like this but on UART1 instead of UART3?

    rx sbus port

    Do you have any 5V source so you can bind the R820x V2 to your transmitter before connecting it to the tricopter?

    Thank you Mikael for show me this thread.

    5V and ground to my Minim Micro OSD comes from UART2 or UART3, just like RX and TX.

    Using F3FC and OSD connected to UART 2 voltage, altitude, horizon bar and timer readings are showing correctly. Only the ampere readings showing wrong values. On UART1 I got an OrangeRX.

    This is my values on UART2

    This is what Cleanflight showing:
    1a.) Disarmed (no VTX, no OSD) = 0.13 A
    1b.) Disarmed (VTX, no OSD) = 0.33 – 0.44 A
    1c.) Disarmed (VTX, OSD) = 8.5 A

    2a.) Armed (motors spins slowly, no VTX, no OSD) = 0.50 – 0.91 A
    2b.) Armed (motors spins slowly, VTX, no OSD) = 0.52 – 0.80 A
    2c.) Armed (motors spins slowly, VTX, OSD) = 8.50 – 8.92 A

    And regardless USB connected or not, with all connected MWOsd show this shows in my googles :
    3a. ) Armed = 8.6 A
    3b. ) Disarmed = 8.5 A

    And today I tested OSD on UART3. This is the result with the MWOsd on UART3.

    This is what Cleanflight showing:
    1a.) Disarmed (no VTX, no OSD) = 0.16 A
    1b.) Disarmed (VTX, no OSD) = 0.16 A
    1c.) Disarmed (VTX, OSD) = 0.47 – 0.83 A

    2a.) Armed (motors spins slowly, no VTX, no OSD) = 0.55 – 0.86 A
    2b.) Armed (motors spins slowly, VTX, no OSD) = 0.53 – 0.91 A
    2c.) Armed (motors spins slowly, VTX, OSD) = 0.66 – 0.80 A

    And regardless USB connected or not, with all connected MWOsd show this shows in my googles :
    3a. ) Armed = NO DATA
    3b. ) Disarmed = NO DATA

    So then I’m using UART3 my micro minim MWOsd, cleanflight reports good values but the MWOsd got no data at all. No volt, no ampere, no height, no horizon bar, no nothing. πŸ™

    UART2 and UART3 got the same ports settings in Cleanflight. MPS on with 115200, Blackbox off, Telemetry disabled AUTO, RX and GPS off.

    Have this Micro Minim OSD. http://www.rctech.se/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=316& with MWOsd R1.6 on it.

    Tricopter disarmed the OSD show 8.5 A. Battery, Fatshark VTX 250mW and Minim OSD connected. After 3:00 minutes OSD say 424 mAh drained.

    Cleanflight say current draw is 0.36 A then only Battery and FatShark VTX (not OSD) connected.

    If I don’t connect the flight battery or OSD CleanFlight reports current draw 0.05 – 0.08 A and 0 V. If I then connect the OSD CleanFlight reports current draw 4 – 12 A and 1.2 V. Also got a low beeping sound once per second. OSD and USB connected at the same time a bad idea?

    Thanks for replying.

    Even if I hoped there would be some 4p connectors with silicon wires those Dupont could work.

    Been reading http://rcexplorer.se/forums/topic/on-board-bec-fried/#post-30596 and wonder what really happen. I thought we could use the UART to power the minimOSD micro? For the one I got seller homepage say “NO Dc/Dc convert . power board via 5 volts “. And all I find then using google say connecting pos, neg, rx and tx to controller board is the way to go.

    The rear motor has to work harder due to tail heaviness and therefore it getting hotter. I would try to get the center of gravity (CG) right before anything else.

    Did find the lego mount and it looks like it can be mounted in Many says. Now I just have to check with hobbyking if the 7-12V is correct or not.

    The youtube films I referenced to was films from FatSharks system like mine. I have a hard time to see what I saw. When filmning cars (in the end of the Saab Turbo Trackday film) I have to had a spotter telling me what to film. My gopro on the other hand did what it should do I think. πŸ™‚ https://vimeo.com/mioh

    Totally missed the receiver module on the Dominators! Then the Attitudes is my first choice.

    Camera (Fat Shark CMOS 600 TVL), video transmitter (Fat Shark 5,8GHz 250mW), goggles (Predator V2) and antennas (ImmersionRC 5.8GHz Circular Polarized spiroNet Antenna) was all bought in August 2013. Contacted Immersion same month because I didn’t get as good picture as other on youtube seems to get despite trying “everything”. Got the answer: Try different settings.

    Have seen the HeadPlay HD on Flitetest and did some googling now. Great price and picture, but big during transport. One reason I build the Mini Tricopter is because my full size tricopter often (read always) is left at home because it’s to big. Where in Europe can you buy HPHD?

    Attitude V3s and Dominator V3s are on the other hand both easy to transport. If buying one of those I think I chose the Dominator V3s because of build in DVR and WVGA 800×480. Or will I have no use of the extra pixel width? Can the videoTX send 800×480 from the camera? Do the camera capture 800×480?

    Talking about camera, one new will be ordered right away I have choose one to order. The Runcam Swift looks really nice. Could it easy be mounted without modifications in a Mini Tricopter? The case looks little bit different. According to hobbyking http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__104475__RunCam_Swift_600TVL_FPV_Camera_PAL_Black_.html input voltage should be 7~12V. Is this a mistyping? Reading 5~17 on other sites. Or do hobbyking sell another version? (My FatShark VideoTX supplies 5V to the camera.)

    Now I will go out and try to tail tune. Not so windy outside today. πŸ™‚
