Hi all together to be on the ball (wire) 😉

looking for wires and saving money I want to give a hint saving 1/3 the money compared buying silicon-cables from HK.

I did find wires, siliconwires being used for saunas (in Germany so called “Sauna-Kabel”). The price is in total is 0,94 € / m containing 3 wires 1 mm² or 1,11 € / m containg 3 wires 1.5 mm². Three 1.5 mm² wires including 2 servo-cabels just fits through the boom better if some grease is used.

1 mm² is approximately comparable to AWG 18, 17.
1.5 mm² is approximately comparable to AWG 16 to 15 – depending on thesource of information being considered (eg.http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/wire-gauges-d_419.html).

    The “regular Sauna-Kabel” is achieveable with different number of wires, 3, 4, 5 – others – I don’t know.

Perhaps also the insulation’siz should be considered.

Nevertheless three wires (1,5 mm²) fits nicely into the boom still leaving enough space for the servo wires, see attached picture).

Many wireless – rc – happy starts and landings.

The next regular size would be 2.5 mm². 4 mm² is not always present and has to be ordered from the whole sale trade. The minimun length to be orderd was 10 m 10,-€ to order and about 2.30 €/ m.

    The “regular Sauna-Kabel” is achieveable with different number of wires, 3, 4, 5 – others – I don’t know.

Many wireless – rc – happy starts and landings.
