  • Welcome to the new page!

Woho! It’s finally done! Well the main things are done at least.
A lot of the work has been “under the hood” type of things which hopefully will make the page work a little smoother and be a little more robust.
As you might have noticed there are some new categories added to the menu like News, DIY and Educational. I plan on writing a lot more guides, like a series on how to edit videos like a pro and new antenna tutorials.

The News section will be updated with news I find interesting and worth telling you about. I will also be featuring other peoples videos and build logs in there so be sure to check back once in a while.

I will also be having a live chat every once in a while where you can ask me questions or just hang out and have a good time. I’ll try to announce the time well in advance as best as I can.

Let’s kick off the new homepage with a 7 day SUPER UPDATE MEGA ÜBER build log of my new MiniQuad! That’s right, everyday for the next 7 days there will be an update on the project. The first update is already up and can be found here

Ok so how do YOU like the new page? What’s good? What’s bad?
I would like to know that you think so be sure to leave a comment!

  • Turnigy 4x6S Fan improvement

    Turnigy 4x6S Fan improvement

I bought this charger a while back and I’ve been using it quite often. It’s really good for charging all my 3s 2200 packs after a long day of flying, but there are a couple of things I don’t like about this charger. Now finally I took the time to fix them.
    laddare1
The protective plastic on the LCD displays are nearly impossible to remove as they are underneath the case.

    laddare2
They are however really easily removed with the case off.

    laddare3
The charger is comprised of two identical boards stacked on top of each other.

    laddare4
Top side of one of the boards. One of the displays didn’t always work as it should and I found the culprit, a bad solder job on one of the pin-headers. Just reheated it with the soldering iron.

    laddare5
Bottom side of one of the boards. As you can see, the heatsink on this charger is just a flat piece of aluminum.

    laddare6
This is the main reason why I disassembled the charger. A very annoying little fan. It was driving me nuts as the rest of my charging station is completely quiet.

    laddare7
    Mr. Dremel to the rescue!

    laddare8
The new fan. If a small fan is good a bigger fan is even better (or isn’t that the American saying?)

    laddare9
The new fan is 70*70mm temperature controlled. I had it laying around since back when used to build computers.

    laddare10
    I simply glued it on.

    laddare11
It’s a little to big but as long as it works I’m happy.

    laddare12
    Done!

    laddare13
It works really well. It’s no where as loud as the old one.

    laddare14
Now I can charge in peace.

Will this be the time I get to slap Josh Bixler?

  • New FPV Video! – “The Everglades”

It’s finally done! The long awaited FPV video from my visit to Florida, Miami and the Everglades.

It was such a cool place to fly FPV. My favorite flight was probably when I got to chase the airboat.

I knew tigers were big but until you meet one face to face you can’t really imagine how massive and powerful they really are. Luckily this tiger was super well trained and were more like a big cat than a fierce killer.

The alligators really wanted to eat the Tricopter and jumped all over the place. I had to be really careful as not to get video of the digestion system of an alligator when flying around.

If someone told me a couple of years ago that I was going to fly a triangle of wood with a camera strapped to it, filming tigers and alligators, I would have laughed. I’m so glad that I had the luck to get to do this. (more…)

  • Ventus overview

In this episode of Flite Test Josh and I take a look at the Ventus Glider from Hobbyking

After the show I ripped out the landing gear and made a battery hatch underneath the wing. Now it doesn’t need any tail weight. It flies great and I really like it. But it’s a glider and should be flown like a glider. It’s great for hunting thermals and I stayed up for an hour without any trouble on one 1300mAh battery.

  • Bomb drop how to

In this episode of Flite Test, Josh and Josh talk about how to make your own simple and cheap bomb drop mechanism, while I get to fly Joshe’s EPP FPV.

  • Bomb drop Slap Bet!

I challenged Josh Bixler to see which of us that could hit a trampoline with Nerf bombs dropped from airplanes.

I see my self as a pretty good pilot but Josh Bixler is a freaking magician compared to me. I can’t wait to do more challanges!

  • The Mosquito FPV Cockpit

This is a episode I really enjoyed. The moment hobbyking released their Mosquito I wanted to make it a scale FPV flyer and now with Flite Test help I finally got to do it!

  • Back in Sweden

I’m back in Sweden after my nearly 3 months long USA adventure. It’s nice to be home but I will sorely miss my friends over the pond.

I had a great time hanging out with the Flite Test guys, making episodes, inventing weird stuff and doing crazy flying. Hopefully I’ll find my way back to the US in not a too distant future.
