  • Turnigy 4x6S Charger improvments

I’ve been using the 4x6S charger to charge all my 3s 2200 packs after a long day of flying, but there are a couple of things I don’t like about this charger. Now finally I took the time to fix them.

  • MiniQuad maiden flight video

It flies so good! I love it. It’s small. It’s quiet. It’s lovable.

  • Welcome to the new page!

Woho! It’s finally done! Well the main things are done at least.
A lot of the work has been “under the hood” type of things which hopefully will make the page work a little smoother and be a little more robust.
As you might have noticed there are some new categories added to the menu like News, DIY and Educational. I plan on writing a lot more guides, like a series on how to edit videos like a pro and new antenna tutorials.

The News section will be updated with news I find interesting and worth telling you about. I will also be featuring other peoples videos and build logs in there so be sure to check back once in a while.

I will also be having a live chat every once in a while where you can ask me questions or just hang out and have a good time. I’ll try to announce the time well in advance as best as I can.

Let’s kick off the new homepage with a 7 day SUPER UPDATE MEGA ÜBER build log of my new MiniQuad! That’s right, everyday for the next 7 days there will be an update on the project. The first update is already up and can be found here

Ok so how do YOU like the new page? What’s good? What’s bad?
I would like to know that you think so be sure to leave a comment!

  • Low flying Slap Bet!

Will this be the time I get to slap Josh Bixler?

  • New FPV Video! – “The Everglades”

It’s finally done! The long awaited FPV video from my visit to Florida, Miami and the Everglades.

It was such a cool place to fly FPV. My favorite flight was probably when I got to chase the airboat.

I knew tigers were big but until you meet one face to face you can’t really imagine how massive and powerful they really are. Luckily this tiger was super well trained and were more like a big cat than a fierce killer.

The alligators really wanted to eat the Tricopter and jumped all over the place. I had to be really careful as not to get video of the digestion system of an alligator when flying around.

If someone told me a couple of years ago that I was going to fly a triangle of wood with a camera strapped to it, filming tigers and alligators, I would have laughed. I’m so glad that I had the luck to get to do this. (more…)

  • Ventus overview

In this episode of Flite Test Josh and I take a look at the Ventus Glider from Hobbyking

After the show I ripped out the landing gear and made a battery hatch underneath the wing. Now it doesn’t need any tail weight. It flies great and I really like it. But it’s a glider and should be flown like a glider. It’s great for hunting thermals and I stayed up for an hour without any trouble on one 1300mAh battery.
