Here it is, the P-51 FPV video:
The plane flies awesome and you almost feel like you’re inside of the plane when flying it FPV. It’s awesome!

I’m back in Sweden after 7 weeks of playtime with the Flitetest guys in Ohio. Just before I left we recorded this episode:
I wanted one last chase to slap Josh Bixler. Jump to 5:50 if you don’t want to watch the entire episode about the HK Micros.
I hope I can return again someday, we had some great adventures.
More build logs and videos will be coming!
The FPV P-51 build-log has just been updated with the pictures of the FPV cockpit. Be sure to check it out!

I’ve wanted to build a FPV warbird for a long time and now I finally got to do it!

The airframe is a 1600mm EPO P-51D Gunfighter from Hobbyking.
Enough talking, here is the first part of the build log
I just love being at Chad’s. One evening I asked Chad; Wouldn’t it be cool to build one of those Avatar gunships?
Chads reply: Yes, lets build one now.
Two days later it was done. I did the electronics and Chad did the esthetics. It turned out so well that we did a flitetest episode on it:

As I usually do when I build stuff, I took pictures. Here is the build log for all of you that want to see how we built the Avatar Scorpion Gunship.

First time I saw the bicopters in Avatar I knew I had to build one, some day. That day has now come. Together with Chad from flitetest we created our take on the dreamed up copter.

I sawed of two small pieces and glued them to the base to act as stops and reduce the friction of the rotating carbon arms.

Almost ready. Just need some guns. However I didn’t take any pictures after this point and you just have to watch the video to see more:
Now that I spend so much time in Chad’s basement, I though I would snap one photo every day I’m down there working and post it so you guys can get a glimpse of what we’re working on. Who knows some of these things might or might not be in the future Flitetest episodes.
Since I’m already behind I’ll post 4 photos today:

This thing will definitely be in a upcoming episode (more…)
Hi guys! I’m finally in the US.
I’ve been building like crazy since I got here, getting ready for the upcoming Flitetest episodes. All I can say is that there will be some really cool episodes coming up
This Saturday the Flitetest crew and I will attend the JR Indoor Electric festival, we’re not going to shoot any official episodes there, just have fun. So if you happen to be going I would love to meet you! And if you’re nice I can introduce you to the flitetest guys as well.
This video was filmed using only one GoPro, which was only held on the plane by double sided sticky tape.
The GoPro without the case weighs as much as 1/3rd of the plane itself.
The flight time with the GoPro mounted was roughly cut in half. It was quite a challenge to catch thermals with twice the drag.
The video was made from about 30 flights.
The second airplane was flown by my friend Kajakmannen. A big thanks for helping out!
I’m going back to the United States of America!
This time I’m staying for 7 weeks and I’m leaving next tuesday (Just a week a way). I’m going to stay with Chad in Ohio, and hang out with the flitetest guys. The goal is to make awesome episodes and have a good time.
Here is a flitetest episode that mentions me visiting again:
