After having to swim after my water plane every other flight I decided to find a solution to the problem. Waterproofing the electronics and using a multirotor ESC configured to work in bi-directional 3D mode. I’m very happy with the way this turned out.
I built this MiniMag waaaay back in 2009. The build log is still on this site. Here is a link.
Nice little project there! I wish I had a little lake like that to fly on.
Great video David as usual
Are those bags of snacks on the wall? In case of emergency munchies? lol
I’m trying to imagine what happens in full prop reverse in mid air with a standard airplane… I am thinking a total stall and carnage. Might need a different wing profile for that maneuver! Symmetrical in all directions I guess. But maybe it will work I am just guessing.
Careful powering up the motor after a water crash, if the motor housing is full of water things might not end well regardless of other electronics being water proofed…
