OUTsaneParticipant
Thanks, man. I’m going to go with the Taranis. I checked some of the YouTube videos posted by the really good quad pilots, and they seem to be using it.
OUTsaneParticipantYeah, I don’t have the part in front of me yet, so I wasn’t sure. Would it take a complete redesign to move the pivot up in relation to the motor? So it sits recessed?
Getting excited though, looks like it will probably be here sometime next week.
OUTsaneParticipantI’m going to throw out my idea here. I haven’t seen the thing up close yet, mine is clearing customs currently, so I could be looking at this wrong. If the problem is that the mass of the motor is throwing the tail around, how about a counter weight? It’s a quick fix rather than re designing the tilt. Have something sticking off the bottom, it could even double as landing gear, but it will move opposite the motor and cancel out the energy of the shake. Possible?
OUTsaneParticipantOk, I’ll look into the shipping thing.
Cool, thanks. That looks smaller than the receiver that comes with the transmiter.
OUTsaneParticipantThis looks like the same Taranis transmiter. Hobby King is $30 cheaper.
OUTsaneParticipantDoes this look legitimate to you guys? I haven’t ordered from surveilzone before, but PayPal usually has the business name, not an individual’s name, when you buy from a business.

OUTsaneParticipantCool, thanks
OUTsaneParticipantJust ordered my 600 TVL as well. It said 7-15 days. Hope it’s quick. I’ll probably order the Taranis tomorrow or the next day, then I think I’ll just have the FPV transmiter and goggles left.
What kinda props should I stockpile? I’m seeing that some guys run glass filled or carbon filled props. Can you notice a difference?
Got a shipment notification yesterday that my mini tricopter has shipped. Looking forward to the build!
OUTsaneParticipantCool! Lots of stuff for me to look through tomorrow. Didn’t order anything tonight, but I’ll start in on it tomorrow.
Yeah, I meant receiver, but typed transmiter. Also typed ultima instead of optima. Guess I was distracted or something.
I’m in New York State actually. Have many people been fined? Is it a ham license you need? I’ll have to check it out.
For the crystal, how about a bead of silicon?
I’ve seen that guys channel, seems pretty good. I’ll watch those videos in the morning(it’s 12:30am here).
Thanks again guys!
OUTsaneParticipantThat was supposed to say Optima.
OUTsaneParticipantThanks guys! Lots of good info for me to go through here. I’m going to save the link to that transmiter/receiver combo. I’m also surprised at how good the prices are on that banggood site.
I’ll look for that Sony camera. The thing that deterred me from the other Sony cameras was the WDR feature. It improves the image, but people are reporting that it costs you some latency.
I paused the build video and found the transmiter David used. It’s a hitec ultima.

OUTsaneParticipantTurns out I’m not going to get the recommended camera. People are reporting lag. Anyone have a good camera they like?
